Man charged with multiple hit and runs and DUI in Johnson County, KY

HUNTINGTON, WV -

Police responding to two reports of a hit and run found a man passed out behind the wheel of his truck in Johnson County, KY.

Shane Dye, 33, of Floyd County, is charged with driving under the influence, two counts of leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid, open alcoholic beverage containers in a motor vehicle, disorderly conduct, driving with no insurance and no registration, according to a news release from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office. 

Deputies say dispatchers took two different reports of hit and runs on KY HWY 107 by a gold Chevrolet pickup truck "driving erratically." Deputies found Dye in his truck in stuck in a culvert and still running. Deputies say Dye was passed out behind the wheel.  Deputies say multiple liquor bottles and prescription medications were found in the truck. 

Dye was taken to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
