MORGANTOWN (AP) — West Virginia University is receiving federal funding to continue supporting the West Virginia Manufacturing Extension Partnership.

Sens. Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin announced the $465,700 in funding on Friday.

The program provides advisory services to the state's local businesses and manufacturers so they can become more competitive and innovative.

The partnership is operated by WVU and works with small and mid-sized manufactures in the state to make them more efficient and to help them create jobs.
