Students at Fairdale Elementary were on lockdown twice on Friday, according to administrators at the school. The first occurred during the morning hours from 9:30 a.m. to around 10:15 a.m. That was because of an unspecified "threat from the community."
Principal Rachel Martin said that the second lockdown happened at around 3 p.m. because of a domestic situation. That lockdown was lifted around 20 minutes later, which allowed the students to be dismissed.
Martin said that parents were notified about the lockdown. Safety of the students was the primary focus of administrators in both cases.
