KANAWHA COUNTY, WV -

A Kanawha County school custodian is under arrest after officials say he brought a loaded gun to Hayes Middle School.

Daniel Turner, 38, was confronted by a school resource officer Friday morning about having a loaded weapon on campus after a complaint was filed.

Turner admitted he had a loaded weapon in his car and granted officers permission to retrieve the weapon. The gun was found under the driver's side seat after police searched the vehicle.

According to Kanawha County School Board policy it is unlawful for any person to possess any firearm or any other deadly weapon on any school bus. It is also unlawful for any person to posses a firearm or any other deadly weapon in or on any public or private primary or secondary education building, structure, facility or grounds.

Turner was arrested without incident by the St. Alban's Police Department. The investigation is continuing at this time.
