Man arrested on drug charges in South Charleston, WV

CHARLESTON, WV -

One man is in jail for various drug charges in Kanawha County, WV.

According to a criminal complaint issued by the Kanawha County Magistrate Court, police were called to a house at 116 Hannan Lane in South Charleston at 5 p.m. Friday, in reference to a Troy Michael Lawrence, 43, growing marijuana and cooking meth in his house.

When police arrived at Lawrence's house, he was not there.

However, while there, police noticed one marijuana plant on the property.

Police then obtained a search warrant, after which they searched Lawrence's house, and found many items used for the manufacturing of meth.

The criminal complaint also states police found a female minor's bedroom inside the house.

While police were conducting their search, Lawrence arrived on the scene, in which police arrested him.

According to the criminal complaint, police found several drug making materials inside his car.

Lawrence was charged with attempting to operate a meth lab, conspiracy to commit a felony, acquisition of precursors, meth exposure to a minor, and cultivation of marijuana.

Lawrence is being held in the South Central Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond.
