A former softball coach has been sentenced on multiple child pornography charges and now he much register as a sex offender.
"It is therefore ordered that the defendant, James Alan Sepik, is guilty of the four felony offenses set fourth in the information," said Judge Ronald Wilson.
James Sepik pleaded guilty to all four counts of possession of child pornography in Brooke County Circuit Court on Monday.
Sepik was ordered by Judge Wilson to serve eight years in jail and register as a sex offender for ten years following his release.
According to Brooke County Prosecutor Joe Barki, a flash drive was found June 26, 2013, near the Follansbee softball field.
The flash drive had hundreds of pictures of juveniles downloaded from the Internet.
Barki said an investigation by West Virginia State Police found no evidence that any of them were of softball players Sepik knew or made contact with.
"Sergeant Adams reviewed it and noted numerous child pornography photographs and there were additional documents on that flash drive connecting it to Mr. Sepik," said Barki.
Barki added that Sepik could have faced numerous other counts of possession for hundreds of other images found on a flash drive allegedly belonging to him.
Aside from serving ten years in jail, Sepik must also pay $1000 in fines.
