HUNTINGTON, WV -

Students at Huntington East Middle School Highlawn Campus in Huntington, WV joined with others across the nation Thursday in an attempt to break a worldwide health event record.

The "Just a Minute" campaign, known as "JAM", encourages students to spend at least one minute a day moving or exercising.

More than 220 students and teachers filled the nearby baseball field dancing for one minute to the tune of "Just a Minute", a song specifically written for the event.

The JAMmin' Minute event is part of the Let's Move West Virginia Active Schools campaign, and First Lady Michelle Obama's national campaign.

The goal is to help students, families, and communities make healthier decisions in life by increasing the amount of daily physical activity.

It also encourages schools to increase the amount of daily physical activity time to the national recommended time of 60 minutes per day.
