CHARLESTON, WV -

West Virginia's most comprehensive reference guide on its government will be available online for the first time since its first publish date of 1916.

The Blue Book contains information about current officials in the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government as well as federal officers and other political leaders. It also contains data about counties, municipalities and statewide organizations as well as information about the U.S. and state constitutions.

"For 92 years the West Virginia Blue Book has been an essential guide for students and researchers on the latest state government information and statistics," Senate President Jeff Kessler said in a news release. "I am pleased that the same detailed information is now available to everyone through the Legislature's website."

The Blue Book is published by the Senate Clerk's office each year.

Senate Clerk Joseph Minard said the 2012 Blue Book came together because of the hard work of Senate Parliamentarian Karl Lilly, now-retired Senate Clerk Darrell E. Holmes and the staff of Legislative Services.

The West Virginia Blue Book can be accessed online at www.legis.state.wv.us.
