CHARLESTON, WV -

Youth in our area learned the importance of firearm safety Monday evening from members of The Charleston Police Department (CPD).

CPD Youth Enrichment Initiative-Gun Safety class taught firearm safety and helped those in attendance learn the importance of making good choices, when in the presence of firearms.

The 25 member group that took part in the class were from the Boys To Men and Sister To Sister mentoring groups.

All in attendance had to take an oath and promise to use the knowledge they gained in the class and make responsible choices going forward when it came to firearms.
