CHARLESTON, WV -

The West Virginia Republican Party will host former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee Oct. 25 in Charleston.

The WVGOP Fall Freedom Dinner is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Charleston Town Center Marriott.

"We are thrilled to have Gov. Huckabee join us for our annual Freedom Dinner," West Virginia Republican Party Chairman Conrad Lucas said in a news release. "Gov. Huckabee is a proven leader in the Republican Party with a strong following in West Virginia."

Huckabee served as the 44th governor of Arkansas, from 1996-2007, and was one of the youngest governors in the country at the time.

Huckabee was selected one of the Public Officials of the Year for 2005 by "Governing Magazine," and "Time Magazine" honored him the same year as one of the five best governors in America. Huckabee received the AARP Impact Award in 2005 and was presented with the Music for Life Award by the National Association of Music Merchants in 2007.

He is the host of "Huckabee," on FOX News Channel which airs Saturday mornings.
