The World's Largest Pink Scarf measures 6,060 feet long and will be displayed at Tamarack in October as a visual representation of Breast Cancer Awareness
Visitors to Tamarack, the Best of West Virginia, are able to check out the World's Longest Pink Scarf throughout the month of October. the scarf is a visual symbol to promote breast cancer awareness.
This is the fourth year that Tamarack has displayed the scarf which now measures 6,060 feet long. It was created by more than 400 women and four men in 29 states, Canada and Puerto Rico. Work on the scarf is still going on. Organizers hope that the scarf will reach two miles long by the end of October.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. It was sponsored by Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital. In addition to the scarf, a 1960 pink Dodge was parked at the front entrance and Tamarack bakers offered pink sugar cookies.
