Two people arrested after South Point, OH police find heroin in car

SOUTH POINT, Oh. -

Two people were arrested after police in South Point, OH found heroin inside their vehicle.

According to police reports, the vehicle driven by Amanda L. Williams was stopped on Grandview Avenue along US 52 about 10 a.m. Tuesday.  Police stopped Williams because they noticed she had been driving erratically and veering off the roadway.

After Williams was pulled over, police asked for her license and registration which she did not have.  A search of her vehicle was then conducted and police found a syringe along with 1 gram of heroin.

Williams was arrested at the scene. Williams is on probation in Circleville, OH for possession of crack.  Additionally; she has an impending court case on charges related to meth.  The passenger in her vehicle, Jason Burgess, was also arrested at the scene.

Both Williams and Burgess were taken to the Lawrence County Jail where they await arraignment on Friday in the Lawrence County Municipal Court.  Police are investigating and additional charges may be pending.
