California man arrested for 2012 homicide in Scott Depot, WV

CHARLESTON, WV -

One man was arrested for a homicide that occurred in August, 2012.

According to a release issued by the U.S. Marshal's service, on Monday, Sept. 30, at 8:30 p.m., Deputy U.S. Marshal's and members of the Cops United Felony Fugitive Enforcement Division (CUFFED) Task Force arrested Michael Anthony Daniels, 60, at his home at 4941 Teays Valley Road in Scott Depot, WV, in Putnam County.

According to the release, Daniels is accused of causing the death of Jessica Brastow, 37, who was pronounced dead in a hotel room in Vellejo, California on August 8, 2012.

The release says that police units learned Daniels may be currently residing in Scott Depot.

Knowing this, police conducted surveillance of Daniel's home, after which they surrounded the home, and arrested Daniels without incident.

Daniels was taken to the Putnam County Magistrate, and was arraigned as a fugitive from justice.

He is currently being held in the Western Regional Jail.
