Teacher arrested for driving drunk in Kanawha County, WV

A Kanawha County, WV teacher has been arrested and charged with driving drunk, according to authorities.

Jennifer Lee Napier, 37, of Charleston, was arrested by State Police on Sunday.

Troopers said they first saw Napier swerving on Interstate 77. She was pulled over near the 35th Street Bridge in Kanawha City a short time later, according to court documents.

Napier smelled like alcohol, troopers said. She failed multiple field sobriety tests and was arrested, according to court documents.

Napier is a 12th grade math teacher at George Washington High School.  Principal George Aulenbacher would not comment on whether or not Napier was fired but did say she hasn't been at school all week.  Students tell 13 News she cleaned out her desk on Monday.

Napier was charged with driving on a suspended license and aggravated DUI.  She's currently out on bond.
