TAMARACK: The Best of West Virginia has invited guests to experience an engaging, month-long experience featuring West Virginia based artists, musicians, cuisine and literature. An array of hands-on activities have been scheduled to suit a wide variety of interests.

Now in its fourth year, American Craft Week's message is stronger than ever. The passion emitted by Tamarack artisans is contagious for those who make, sell and collect hand-made, American products. To learn more about American-made crafts, visit http://americancraftweek.com/.

Artist Demonstrations

A number of Tamarack artists will perform live demonstrations on select October dates from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Oct. 11-13 Dewayne Gregory (carved wood) and Stephanie Danz (stained glass)

Oct. 19-21 Suzanne Kniceley (textiles) and Anne Beardslee (pine needle baskets)

Oct. 25-27 Delbert Pitchford ( wood carving) , Margaret Adkins (textiles), and Francis Boone and Sharon Hypes (dried flowers)

Sunday@Two Live Music

Every Sunday at 2 p.m., Tamarack provides free live performances to guests. Tickets may be reserved in advance the week before each show by calling 1-88-TAMARACK ext. 161 between 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and every Sunday after 10 a.m.

Book Author Signing Events

West Virginia authors with books for sale at Tamarack stop by to sign their books, talk to interested readers and answer questions. The book author signing events will happen throughout the month of October between 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Authors participating include: Oct. 12- Patsy Pittman, Oct. 18- Norman Jordan, Oct. 19- Annette Rose and Lisa McCombs, Oct. 20- Wes Harris, and Oct. 27- Bob Barnett.

Gallery Exhibit: Opposites Abstract

Artists will entertain and express ideas in and outside the natural world during the gallery exhibit. The exhibit will be open to the public through Nov. 8, 2013.

Food Tastings

Throughout the month of October, guests are invited to sample delicious, West Virginian made treats. Blue Smoke salsa will be featured on Oct. 12; Sweetez, Candies and Chocolates will be available for tasting Oct. 18; Ordinary Evelyn's Jams and Jellies on Oct. 19; and Bluegrass BBQ and BBQ sauce Oct. 25.
