Amber Alert canceled after 2-year-old girl found safe in KY; father in custody

Kentucky State Police found a 2-year-old girl and her father near Upton, Kentucky on Tuesday night after an Amber Alert was issued.

Authorities said Jaylynn Maxey is safe and in good health. Her father, Joshua Yaeger, was taken into custody.


An Amber Alert has been issued for a 2-year-old girl who was abducted Monday from the Louisville, KY area, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Authorities are looking for Jaylynn Maxey. She's the daughter of the suspect, Joshua Yeager, but he does not have custody according to investigators. Yeager, 24, is also a suspect in the robbery of the Stockyard Bank and Trust in Shepherdsville, KY. Yeager's current location is unknown, but the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children web site states that he has family Scottsville, IN, and could be headed that direction.

Yeager is described as about 6' 1" tall and weighs 185 pounds. He blue eyes, brown hair, a tattoo on his right arm and a another on the left side of his neck.

Yeager could be driving a maroon 2000 Ford Taurus. The hood and roof are painted black and gray. It has New Jersey tags with the registration VHM-20Z.

Jaylynn was last seen wearing a black-and-pink tank top, a pull-up diaper and sandals. Anyone with information is asked to contact 911 immediately.
