Game winning field goal completes Marshall University's comeback

CHARLESTON, WV -

Down 23-21 with six seconds remaining, Marshall's Justin Haig hit a 41 yard field goal as time expired to give the Thundering Herd a 24-23 victory Saturday night over Florida Atlantic University. 

After a FAU touchdown with 10:01 remaining, Marshall trailed 23 to 14. With 6:47 remaining, the Thundering Herd crept closer as Gator Hoskins caught a 41 yard touchdown reception from Rakeem Cato.

With no timeouts remaining, Marshall started their final drive with 2:06 left on the clock on their own nine yard line. After an incomplete pass forced fourth down, Justin Haig delivered the game winning kick.

Marshall is now 4-2 overall and 2-0 in Conference USA. They don't return to action until Thursday, Oct. 24 when they'll take on Middle Tennessee.
