UPDATE: Oct. 13, 2013 3:08 a.m.: The West Virginia State Police is investigating a head-on collision on MacCorkle Avenue Southeast near Turnpike Ford at 9:53 p.m. Saturday.

State Troopers tell 13News a Ford F-150 traveling southbound on W.V. Route 61 struck a Chevy S-10 traveling northbound, after attempting to pass a vehicle.

Two male drivers, both between the ages of 16 and 18 years-old, were dead on arrival. A female passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries. The female passenger remains at Charleston Area Medical Center.

"It seems to be on the rise of younger people," said WV State Trooper Aaron Wilson. It's inexperienced drivers, not paying attention and not being careful. The roadways are dangerous. We're on the road a lot and you've just got to be careful when you're out on the roads."

The crash remains under investigation. State Police do not believe alcohol played a factor in Saturday night's crash.

The name of the victims are not being released at this time, pending family notification.
