Marshall University football players celebrate Haig's photo

Marshall's Justin Haig kicked a game winning 41 yard field goal as time expired to give the Thundering Herd a thrilling 24-23 victory over Florida Atlantic University.

After the kick, Haig put his index finger over his lips and shushed the crowd. It was redemption for Haig who missed a potential game winning field goal against Virginia Tech. Some of his teammates talked Monday afternoon about their reaction to the photo the circulated online after the game.

"It's an awesome picture. That's probably one of the best shushes I've ever seen. I'm glad it was him he really deserves it, he really does," said freshman kicker, Amoreto Curraj.

"I couldn't even breathe when I first saw it. That's just typical Justin right there. He's a hoot, he's funny," said freshman offensive lineman, Michael Shelby.

The Thundering Herd are now 4-2 and 2-0 in Conference USA. The Herd are off until Thursday, October 24 when they play Middle Tennessee. The game will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
