UPDATE:

Police have released the name of a man who was stabbed in the chest on Oct. 14 in Gallipolis, OH. 

James Hamilton, 38, of Gallipolis is recovering in the hospital, according to the Gallipolis Police Dept.

A Gallipolis, Ohio man was hospitalized after police said he was stabbed in the chest.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 at a home in the 700 block of 4th Avenue, according to officers with the Gallipolis Police Department.  911 dispatchers said they received a call about a disturbance and stabbing at the residence prior to officers being dispatched.  

Witnesses told police that two men were fighting inside the home.  One pulled out a kitchen knife and stabbed the other.  The male victim was transported to Holzer Medical Center and then later flown to Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio for further treatment of his injuries.

A person of interest was questioned but no one has been charged. The investigation is continuing at this time.
