Marshall football team controls own destiny in conference race

HUNTINGTON, WV -

With Saturday's win over Florida Atlantic and East Carolina's loss to Tulsa, Marshall now controls their own destiny in the east division of Conference USA. The Thundering Herd is now the only undefeated team on their side of the division at 2-0. Marshall's head coach Doc Holliday talked about that during his weekly press conference Tuesday afternoon.

"Kids are kids and they have dreams and goals. They know they're all still out there. We control that so we have to make sure we get better everyday in practice and do play our best game a week from Thursday to try to keep those goals and dreams in place," said he said.

The Herd are on a bye week this week. They will be back in action Thursday, October 24th against Middle Tennessee State University. The Blue Raiders are 3-4 overall and 1-2 in Conference USA. This is MTSU's first season in the conference. They spent the previous twelve years in the Sun-Belt Conference.
