SOUTH CHARLESTON, WV -

The Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority and Metro 911 are combining forces to save lives. They teamed up on Monday to talk about CPR protocols and techniques. Members of both groups said getting together in person helps them better serve the community. "With us training Metro 911 employees they understand that from the minute the call is answered, if you can start CPR then, the better the outcome from the patients," said Patrick Clark from the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority.

Representatives for the KC"EAA said it's important because the first 20 minutes of an emergency are the most critical. They are with the patients. They can really help us by telling us what they need us to do so when they get on the scene, on the call they have the most information to perform their duties and what they need to do," said Paul Dryden with Metro 911.

The training was held at the Metro 911 Communications Center off Corridor G near the Southridge Center in Kanawha County.
