RIPLEY, West Virginia -

According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, the person who supplied the alcohol to the party in Ripley, WV is known, and that charges are forthcoming.

Earlier reports indicated the teenage girl was taken to the hospital and had sustained injuries, however, police say there were no signs of injury.  Police say the girl was taken to the hospital to be treated for alcohol poisoning.

A young girl is in a Charleston hospital recovering from wounds, friends say, she sustained after an out of control Halloween party over the weekend.

The party was allegedly hosted by high school age Jackson County students Saturday night.  Close family friends say the 14-year-old girl received injuries that covered her in bruises and put her in the hospital on a breathing machine.

No official word yet on how she got hurt.  We are told the community is backing the young girl, sending her messages of support on social media and at the hospital.

We contacted West Virginia State Police and the Jackson County Board of Education for comment, and were told to contact the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.  Deputies said they would not say anything publicly regarding the investigation and that it was too early to go on the record with details.  Her mother also declined comment, saying she wanted to "get her little lady home."

We are told by family friends that the student is off of the ventilator, and is making progress in her recovery.
