    Nine Martinsburg, West Virginia, residents and another from Keyser were sentenced to federal prison for breaking the law while they were on supervised release or probation.

Mountwest Community & Technical College announced two new members to its Institutional Board of Governors.

New members are Cathy Burns of Huntingtonwho was recently hired as the president of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce, and James Kaul of Proctorville, Ohio, a Mountwest student.

Prior to the Chamber of Commerce, Burns served as the workforce development recruiter for the Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing.  She was appointed to the Institutional Board of Governors by Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin. Her term runs through June 30, 2016.

Kaul is a sophomore at Mountwest and is studying engineering technology. He was elected president of the Student Government Association and serves as the student representative on the Institutional Board of Governors through June 30, 2014.

Additionally, current member Mark George is now serving as vice chair. The college has a total of 12 board members.
