CHARLESTON, WV -

Police have arrested a woman in relation to a murder for hire plot in Parkersburg, WV.

According to a news release issued by the Parkersburg Police Department, Amy Yvonne Mayhugh, 40, was arrested without incident at her home, located at 918 16th Street in Vienna, WV, shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6., after an all-day operation that led to police finding out that Mayhugh wanted to have her husband killed so that she could collect insurance money.

According to the release, police recovered evidence and record conversations between the cooperating individual who initially told them about Mayhugh's plot, as well as from Mayhugh, that allegedly supported these findings.

Mayhugh also provided the cooperating individual a Rolex watch as partial payment for having her husband killed.

Mayhugh was taken to the Parkersburg Police Department, and has been charged with a felony of solicitation to commit murder.

She was placed in the Wood County Holding Center to await arraignment at 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 at the Wood County Magistrate Court.
