HUNTINGTON, WV -

A murder suspect has been caught by police, five months after he was accused of shooting a man to death inside a popular bar, authorities said.

David Pitts was captured by Huntington police early Thursday morning.

Police said Pitts shot Deangelo Erquhart multiple times inside of Gary's Place bar in July.

The bar is located on 10th Avenue in Huntington, WV.

The bar was packed with people at the time.  There was mass chaos after gunshots rang out inside.  Hundreds of people ran into the street in the minutes following the shooting.  When police went inside, they found Erquhart, who had been shot multiple times.  He died at the hospital.

The Alcohol Beverage and Control Administration suspended the bar's license for 10 days after the shooting.  Police said the area has seen an increase in violence over the past year.

Pitts has been charged with wanton endangerment, fleeing, and murder.

He will be arraigned by a magistrate judge later this morning.
