House fire reported in Huntington, WV

Crews are investigating a house fire in Huntington, WV.

According to dispatchers, the fire happened in the area of 2629 4th Avenue at about 12:51 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7.

According to the Huntington Fire Department Chief Carl Eastham, the power had been off for some time in the house, and the people living in the house were using candles for light and a kerosene heater for heat.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.

The majority of the damage was in the front two rooms of the house, and there was smoke damage throughout the rest of the house.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
