Four people have been arrested on drug charges in connection with a fire that occurred at an apartment complex in Taylor County.

An investigation conducted by the Grafton Police Department determined that a fire that destroyed an apartment building on October 26 on Thayer Street started as a direct result of the manufacture of methamphetamine by Dana Broyles, of Summersville. The incident took place in an apartment occupied by Amy Dawn Poling, of Grafton.

Broyles was arrested and charged with one count of obtaining controlled substance by misrepresentation; one count of purchasing a substance to be used as a precursor to manufacture methamphetamine; one count of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine; one count of operating a clandestine drug lab; and one count of exposure of children to methamphetamine manufacturing, according to the Grafton Police Department.

Poling was arrested and charged with one count of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and one count of exposure to children to methamphetamine manufacturing, police said.

Michael L. Anderson and Daniel Joe Palmer, both of Grafton, were also arrested in connection with the incident. Anderson is charged with two counts of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. Palmer is charged with two counts of purchasing a substance to be used as a precursor to manufacture methamphetamine and one count of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.

The Grafton Police Department said more charges are pending.
