PRINCETON -

Police are digging even deeper into the James Bo Butler murder investigation and now, Oscar Ross Combs' son, 21-year-old Oscar Ross Combs Jr. has been arrested and charged with first degree murder.

Sergeant Maddy with the West Virginia State Police said both Combs and his son have implicated themselves with the murder of James Bo Butler back in April of 2011.

What we know now is Combs and the victim worked together near Pineville.

Sergeant Maddy said Combs was attempting to rob Butler when he shot and killed him.

Two weeks after Butler went missing, police located the body off of Crumpler Road near Herndon in Mercer County.

The two are being charged in Mercer County, the investigating officers are Sgt. Maddy in Wyoming County and Cpl. Reed in Summers County.

Butler was originally reported missing from his Hinton home back in 2011 when he failed to report to work in Wyoming County.

Tuesday, police were searching the Combs' home and yard located off of Deerfield Road near the boarder of Mercer and Wyoming Counties along State Route 10.

Sergeant Maddy said this investigation is still very active and they do expect more information and possibly more arrests to come out soon.

Both Combs and Combs Jr. are being held in Southern Regional Jail without bond.
