POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. (AP) - The family of a Point Pleasant man who died in 1997 will use flowers to create a likeness of his face on a float in next year's Rose Parade in California.

The Center for Organ Recovery and Education is sponsoring the memorial floragraph portrait of 22-year-old Kevin Ellis Boyles, whose tissues and corneas were donated after his death. The portrait will appear on Donate Life's float in the 2014 Rose Parade in Pasadena, Calif.

A floral decorating event is scheduled for Dec. 5 at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant.

According to Donate Life's Rose Parade website, Boyles was a senior pursuing a forestry degree at West Virginia University when he died of an undetected cardiac condition called viral myocarditis.
