CHARLESTON, WV -

Despite five turnovers, Marshall University defeated Tulsa, 45-34. Rakeem Cato threw for 456 yards and five touchdowns on the night.

Marshall jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter. They led 31-14 at the half. However, Tulsa scored 20 consecutive points to take the lead at 34-31 with 12:27 left in the fourth quarter. The Thundering Herd scored the games last 14 points to improve to 7-3 and 5-1 in Conference USA.

On top of Cato's performance, Marshall's offense gained 619 yards of total offense.

The Thundering Herd will travel to play Florida International University on Saturday, November 23 at 6 p.m.
