The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources issued a release to correct a misprinted date for the beginning of firearm deer season.

The 2013 WV Wildlife Calendar states that buck season begins on Nov. 18 but according Curtis I. Taylor, Chief of Wildlife Resources, the actual start date is Nov. 25.

"Because our traditional, November firearms deer season opens the Monday before Thanksgiving every year, the season opening can be as early as Nov. 19 and as late as Nov. 25," said Taylor.

Hunters will have the opportunity to purchase and extra buck stamp for $21.  Resident landowners can harvest an extra buck without purchasing the extra stamp.
