ELKVIEW, WV -

An Elkview, WV man is arrested on drug charges after he is pulled over for a routine traffic violation.

Donald Russell Falls, 35, was traveling on Frame Road shortly after 1 a.m. on November 17, 2013 when Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies noticed he was speeding.

Deputy Howery with the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office noticed that Falls had an odor of alcohol on his breath and asked him to step out of the vehicle. When Falls stepped out of the vehicle a small baggie containing a leafy substance fell to the ground. A field test indicated it was marijuana. The drugs weighed more than 50 grams and had a street value of $500.00.

Additionally, Falls was given a field sobriety test which he failed.

Falls was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a felony.  His vehicle was towed. He was taken to South Central Regional Jail to await arraignment.
