Woman arrested after crashing into gas line and house in Charleston, WV

UPDATE:

April Dawn Weaver and Terry Weaver are being investigated by Charleston Police after Richard Jones died from a heroin overdose at their house on Sugar Creek Drive last night, according to police.

Hours later, police said April got behind the wheel of her Oldsmobile, high on heroin, and crashed into a gas meter and home on Falcon Dive in Charleston, police said.

She's facing DUI and driving revoked for DUI in connection with the crash.

Her husband, Terry, has been charged with obstruction for lying to police about the circumstances of Jones and his overdose, according to court documents.

They are both being investigated by Charleston detectives for Jones's death.

UPDATE:

Police said the driver of the vehicle is facing DUI related charges. During questioning, she admitted to using heroin overnight before getting behind the wheel of her car. There has been an increase in heroin usage in Charleston, police said. The driver's name will be released shortly.

No one was injured in the accident.

Falcon Drive will fully reopen within the hour.

A woman has been arrested after police said she crashed into a gas line and house on Falcon Drive in Charleston.

It happened around 4 a.m.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, whose name has not been released, is believed to have been under the influence of an unknown substance.

Police found syringes in her vehicle, they said. Police said she also might be connected to an overdose death case overnight involving another person.

Charleston firefighters have sectioned off the area where the gas line was hit.

No one was injured.
