More than 75 snow plows and 25,000 tons of salt are ready to go in eastern Kentucky.

State highway crews are out today putting salt brine on the roads in preparation for winter storms. Drivers are urged to use caution on Interstate 64, AA Highway, US 23, US 60, US 68, KY 32 and other roads in Bath, Boyd, Carter, Elliott, Fleming, Greenup, Lewis, Mason, Nicholas and Rowan counties, according to a news release from the Kentucky Department of Transportation.

Crews say they will monitor weather conditions and forecasts to see that the roads are in driving condition.
