UPDATE:

Jackson County Sheriff's Office have identified the man who was killed in a homicide on Saturday, November 30, 2013. He has been identified as Patrick Morgan, 48, of Albany Ohio.

The suspect Lewis Vance 32, of Jackson, is currently in custody on unrelated charges.

An investigation is underway in the case of a body found in Jackson County, OH.

According to a news release issued by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, at 8:36 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, police received a call about an accident involving two vehicles in the area of Diggs Road, in Jackson County, outside of Wellston.

Deputies a male fled the scene from one of the vehicles, and when police checked, they found a body in the other vehicle.

According to the release, at around the same time period as the accident call, the Wellston Police Department responded on a call on South New York Ave., in which they determined that a "serious crime" had occurred.  

The release says a male was apprehended by police near the area of Diggs Road, and was taken to the Holzer Medical Center for treatment.

Investigators also now believe that both the accident and the incident in Wellston were linked to the male that was apprehended.

Neighbors and passers by describe a gruesome scene on the back porch and patio of the home on South New York Ave.

This is really not a bad community," says Mona Williamson, who lives across the street. "But sometimes people can make it a bad community."

Neighbors tell 13 News that a man and woman lived in the home, and police have responded to the address before.

The Jackson County Coroner viewed the body, and ordered it to be sent to The Franklin County Coroner's Office for an autopsy.

According to the release, a person of interest is being held in The Jackson County Correctional Facility for unrelated offenses.

The investigation is ongoing.
