Marshall University falls in final seconds to Vanderbilt

CHARLESTON, WV -

Trailing 69-67 with the ball and nine seconds remaining, Marshall never got shot off as they turned it over to end the game. The Thundering Herd never led in the ball game, and trailed by as many as thirteen points in the second half. They had the lead cut to one late in the second half. 

Kareem Canty led all scores with 18 points. Elijah Pittman chipped in with 17. Shawn Smith came off the bench to add 15. 

Marshall is now 4-3 on season. They will travel to play Penn State, Saturday at 7 p.m.
