School sends off Huntington football team

HUNTINGTON, WV -

Huntington High gathered to send their state-bound football team to Super Six. The band played, the cheerleaders led chants and the student body cheered on their fellow students as they prepared to leave for Wheeling.

"It's really exciting because we're making history this year, and it's nice to be part of it," said student Clarice Stradwick.

"They're us. They wear our school across their jersey every week, so it's important we are there for them," said student Fisher Cross.

With this being their first state appearance since opening new Huntington High School, head coach Billy Seals knows the importance of this event as well.

"It's a memory that myself and my staff and players will remember our entire lives. We're excited to get the opportunity," he said.
