PENNSBORO -

Update:

Recently the fate of the Pennsboro Speedway race track was put into the hands of a judge who decided that the speedway cannot be sold without the Ritchie County Circuit Court's permission.

But first a new board will have to be elected to the Ritchie County Agriculture and Fair Association.

The election is open to anyone in Ritchie County and will be held on January 31st.

After three years, a case in Ritchie County is finally closed.

In 2010 three people filed a lawsuit against the Ritchie County Agricultural and Fair Association for trying to put the Ritchie County Speedway up for sale.

On Tuesday, Judge Tim Sweeney heard the case.

According to attorney Patrick Mcfarland, both parties reached an agreed upon resolution.

The resolution said that if the Ritchie County Agricultural and Fair Association wants to sell the speedway property, it must go through the Ritchie County Circuit Court first.

The circuit court will then decide if the chosen buyer is in the best interest of Ritchie County.
