CHARLESTON, WV -

Police are on the lookout for a suspect in an armed robbery in Huntington, WV.

According to dispatchers, it happened outside of Kroger, located on 1st Street and 7th Avenue at 2:37 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14.

Dispatchers say a male armed with a handgun robbed one of the bell ringers of The Salvation Army, took an entire bucket of donations, and fled on foot.

We spoke to bell ringers at another Kroger location on 5th Avenue, who tell us police stopped by to tell them to take precautions.

"It makes us angry to hear that money that is set aside for the needy is being robbed by someone and taken away from those people," says bell ringer, Larry Nelson of Huntington.

No injuries were reported.

Police say the suspect is described as a light skin black male, in his late20s, is 6'2", medium build, with a thin beard, and he was wearing a dark hooded jacket and gray sweat pants at the time of the robbery.

If anyone has any information on the suspect's whereabouts, contact the Huntington Police Department at 304-696-4444.
