At 23-years-old there's not many people that don't know Marcus Bower in and around the city of Ripley. Born with fetal alcohol syndrome, Bower doesn't let that keep him away from his Vikings.

"They just make me happy. They say 'Coach Bower we love you,'" said Bower.

He's made an impact on some of the girls he's helped coach.

"Marcus is a motivator. He's so passionate, and to see how excited he gets and see how much he cares about our school and sports, he's really a good motivator for us," said senior Sarah Williams.

"He loves the Mountaineers and Ripley, and if you're not those two teams you're not doing anything," said girls basketball coach Justin Frashier.

Bower does more than just help out with the basketball team. You will also see him along the football and softball programs.
