WV Fire Marshal says that the cause of the fire in Marie has still not been determined.
Firefighters and sheriff's deputies were called to the scene of a fire on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The fire was reported just before 2:30 p.m.
The home was located on Barger Spring Road near the unincorporated Summers County community of Marie. Firefighters put out the blaze, but deputies returned to the scene after they were informed that someone may have been in the house. As of Thursday, officials have still not released the identity of the victim.
Investigators with the West Virginia Fire Marshal's Office said on Thursday, Dec. 19 that the cause of the fire is still undetermined. The fire is still being investigated.
