    A tractor trailer is blocking part of Route 2. The road is closed until further notice. Drivers heading in both direction are being asked to use the Big Ben Bowen Highway connector by Target to get around.

Officials with the Mercer County Sheriff's Department confirm explicit language and derogatory symbols have been spray-painted on the walls and on the entrance sign of the Islamic Center.

"You know it's very hurtful because they are not hurting an individual, they are hurting the whole community. It's like they are hating the whole community and this is very hurtful. This needs to be investigated by the FBI as a hate crime," said Islamic Center member Dr. Abdul Piracha.


Officials with the Mercer County Sheriff's Department confirm explicit language and derogatory symbols have been spray-painted on the walls and on the entrance sign of the Islamic Center. 

Deputies said this happened sometime over the weekend. It was reported to police Monday afternoon. The Islamic Center is located in Green Valley near U.S. Route 460.

Officials said this vandals have targeted this Islamic Center in the past. They told us they are now conducting extra patrols.
