SANDYVILLE, WV -

Many families make it a tradition to decorate around the holidays. But a Sandyville, WV woman has taken that idea to the extreme.

"Every place I could find to sit something or hang something there is a snowman," explained Kimberly Boggess.

Inside the home she shares with her husband Joe, it seems nearly impossible to avoid getting in the spirit of the holiday season.

In 30 years she has collected 7,000 snowmen of all shapes and sizes.

They are everywhere. In the bathroom. On the walls. Her kitchen utensils even have snowmen on the handles.

Boggess said she remembers the first snowman she collected.

"I keep it in the cabinet with the other breakables," she said. "They are always happy. I never see a snowman with a sad face. They are always smiling."

Joe bought her a stuffed snowman in 2001, the year they met. Since then he has continued to help Kimberly build her collection.

Joe was diagnosed with kidney cancer several months ago. The experience put life in perspective.

"That really opened our eyes to the important things in life," Kimberly Boggess said. "We just decided if it makes you happy do it."

The couple admits some people might think they are a little flaky, but they don't mind.

"You know the saying if the wife isn't happy no one is happy," Joe said with a laugh.

The Boggess' started out storing the snowmen in totes. Then they had to switch to large barrels. Now they have a trailer where they keep the snowmen throughout the year.

Kimberly Boggess said she is hoping to pass all of the decorations on to her children and grandchildren one day.
