CHARLESTON, WV -

A West Portsmouth man was arrested and charged with breaking and entering and grand theft.

According to a release from the Scioto County Sheriff's Office, Cody Hiram Bennett, 21, was arrested at about noon on Dec. 19.

The release says that on Nov. 25 the sheriff's office responded to Journey's Auto for a reported break-in.  Another auto store, Rusty's Auto Sales, also reported a break-in and that a truck was stolen.

Detectives, following up on a lead, arrested Bennett and also discovered the stolen truck.

More charges are pending in the case against Bennett and an unnamed accomplice. Bennett is being held in the Scioto County Jail with a $7,500 bond.
