Baskin-Robbins robbed at gunpoint in Huntington, WV; police search for suspect

HUNTINGTON, WV -

According to a news release issued by the Huntington, WV police, the Baskin-Robbins located at Hal Greer Blvd and Washington Avenue was robbed just before 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27.

Police say the suspect entered the store brandishing a pistol and demanded cash. The employees gave him the cash from the register.

A witness, according to the news release, tried to push the suspect out of the store after he received cash. However, the suspect just pushed the witness down and made his way to the back of the store to look for more money.

The suspect eventually fled out the front door. According to Huntington Police, they arrived about 3 minutes after the robbery occurred with a K9 unit. Investigators say they were able to pick up a track that indicated a vehicle may have been used in the robbery according to the press release.

The suspect in the robbery is described as white male, in his 20's, 6 ft. tall, and about 200 pounds. He had his lower face covered with a shirt during the robbery, according to the news release, but he possibly has a mustache. He was last seen wearing a black leather jacket, jeans, and a gray hooded jacket underneath a coat or heavier outer layer, according to information released by the Huntington Police Department. The suspect was also last seen wearing a black watch cap.

Huntington Police say the Baskin-Robbins had security cameras. However, that footage is not being released at this time.
