Summersville, WV -

UPDATE:

Fire crews are investigating a fire that happened at a tire store in Summersville, WV.

According to crews at the scene, the fire, which occurred at the C. Adam Toney Discount Tires, started at 4:40 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28.

Six fire departments throughout Nicholas County responded, along with the WV Department of Environmental Protection, due to there being hazardous materials, in which they had to block the runoff so that the materials would not reach a lake.

Crews say the fire started in the rear of the building.  The cause of the fire is not yet known.

No injuries were reported.

The fire was put out somewhere between 8 and 9 a.m., however, crews say it is still smoldering.  The structure is considered unsafe, and according to crews at the scene, the WV State Fire Marshal will not be able to conduct their investigation until Monday, Dec. 30.

The building is considered a multi-million dollar loss.
