A new year brought a new member of the family for Angel Bickley and Nicholas Atha. They live in Montgomery, WV.

Their son was born Wednesday morning at Charleston Area Medical Center's Women and Children's Hospital. He was the first baby of the New Year.

Rylee Scott was born a day later than expected.

As the clock turned to midnight starting 2014, Bickley said she knew it was time.

"I started going into labor around then," Bickley said. "I started going into labor moving around picking up stuff. We made it here just in time. My water broke as we were walking in the door."

Nicholas is a first time dad. The Rylee's birth brought a mix of joy and fear.

"You should have seen me trying to feed him that bottle earlier," Nicholas Atha laughed. "It was horrible. I was freaking out. It is the scariest time of my life."

But as he adjusts to fatherhood Nicholas is looking forward to seeing his son grow up so he can tell him the story of the day he was born.

"Whatever he wants to be, whatever he wants to do, I'm ok with that," Nicholas said.
