UPDATE: Names released in murder-suicide in Boone County, WV

Police have released the names in a Boone County, WV murder-suicide.

According to police, Bobby Hatcher, 45, shot and killed his wife, Reba Hatcher, 34,  before shooting himself. Troopers found both bodies inside their home on Joe's Creek Road near Comfort Thursday morning.

Investigators said they found two pistols in the residence. They tell 13 News Reba was shot several times.

Police said two children, ages 10 and 6, witnessed the shooting inside the house. A neighbor said the kids ran into her yard, screaming. Child Protective Services have placed the children into foster care.

"The smallest one was pretty shook up, pretty upset," said Sgt. Charles Sutphin, with the West Virginia State Police.

Relatives said Bobby, originally from Raleigh County, had lashed out at least once before, last year.

"I'd worry about them all the time," said David Adkins, Reba's uncle. "What'd he'd do to her and stuff."

Bobby worked as a rock truck driver at Alpha Natural Resources, according to his Facebook page.

Reba worked at the Exxon in Comfort. Her coworkers spoke of her candor and her smile.

"The world is a darker place because she's not here," said Adam Grizzle, her former coworker.

West Virginia State Police are investigating a murder-suicide in the Comfort area of Boone County, WV.

Troopers said they responded to a shooting call at approximately 9 a.m. on Joe's Creek Road. It appears a husband shot his wife before turning the gun on himself, according to investigators.

Police tell 13 News that two children witnessed the incident while inside the house. A neighbor said the two children, ages 10 and 6, ran screaming to her house next door. Child Protective Services placed the children in foster care on Thursday.

Troopers said they recovered two pistols inside the home, and the female suffered at least 2 gunshot wounds.
