Christopher Linville pleaded guilty to child neglect in court today.

Linville is accused of stealing a car with a child inside.  The court agreed to drop the stolen vehicle charge if Linville pleaded guilty to the child neglect charge.

Linville told the judge he had no idea baby Evan was in the backseat when he did it.  Evan's mom, Emily Mottesheard, said the ordeal has been a nightmare.

"We're really happy this is just over and we can get this behind us.  It's been a rough couple of months," she said.

Linville will be sentenced on May 19 and faces 1 to 5 years in prison.

Christopher Linville was arraigned Wednesday, March 19, in Judge Duke Bloom's courtroom. He is being charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and child neglect creating substantial risk of bodily injury or death.

Linville plead not guilty and a trial date was set for Monday April 14, 2014. He remains in the South Central Regional Jail on a quarter of a million dollar bond.

His lawyer, Ed Rebrook, stated Wednesday that Linville has a serious addiction to Meth and he needs to be checked out by the courts, as his lawyer believes he is incompetent to stand trial because of his addiction.

Linville's bond was not reduced because Judge Duke Bloom believes Linville can be a harm to himself and the community.
